Get to Know Zoe:
How long have you worked with Beauty Works?
I’ve been working with Beauty Works for 6 years. After trying a few brands early on in my career I then opened my account with Beauty Works and I haven’t looked back, they have become my sole supplier and the only brand I’ve stuck with long-term.
What’s the best piece of advice for someone starting out in the hair extensions industry?
Invest in proper education and quality hair from the start. Cutting corners early on might feel like you’re saving money, but it often costs more in the long run. Proper education gives you the foundations and using quality hair from the beginning means your results are consistent and your clients are happy. When clients trust the hair and the work, they’ll rebook, recommend you, and your business will grow naturally.
What do you think makes Beauty Works so special?
For me, it’s the combination of consistent hair quality, the range of methods and shades, and the level of support and development they offer. They’re always evolving and educating; the new product launches are always so inspiring and a great chance to meet others in the industry.
What hair concerns can you solve by using hair extensions?
Extensions can completely transform hair, from adding length, to giving thickness to fine hair, and even just help clients hair hold a style longer. It’s not just about long hair now, it’s about custom solutions and results that look so natural you wouldn’t know they are extensions at all.
What would you say is your career highlight?
Becoming an educator with Beauty Works is definitely a highlight. Being trusted by such a well established brand, and being able to pass on skills and confidence to other stylists, is something I’m really proud of.
What is your favourite hair extension method?
This is hard as there is a client for each method, but if I had to choose I’d say the Invisitip Nano Bonds. They are so versatile, discreet, and give really beautiful, natural results.
What is your favourite Beauty Works hair extension shade?
At the moment I’d say Mocha Melt. I’m loving more toned down, lived in blondes and this colour is such a lovely blend. Plus it’s the shade I’m currently wearing.
What do you think is the most underrated Beauty Works extension shade?
Ooo Im going to say Dark Chocolate, I think it may be the prefect brunette shade. With a lot of brands it is really hard to find a brunette shade to match a lot of clients as they tend to lack depth and warmth, but this shade is absolutely stunning and has the perfect balance making it really versatile.
What’s your favourite moment during a client’s hair extension journey?
I love a reveal, but my favourite part is seeing the progress in a client’s natural hair over time. So many of my clients find that their own hair grows or thickens while wearing extensions, simply because they’re looking after it properly by using the right products, reducing heat, and following good aftercare. Being able to track that journey with them and achieve healthy, long-term results is something I find really rewarding.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned since becoming an educator with Beauty Works?
That you never stop learning. There is always room to grow and even as an educator there is always a technique to refine, or a shade to experiment with. It keeps you open minded and constantly evolving.
